about little tree press: here's the story

Before starting Little Tree Press in May of 2003 I was happily employed at a small design/media shop in New York. In my free time I designed stationery, invitations, boutique awnings, and whatever else seemed like a fun and creative challenge for friends, friends of friends and then complete strangers.

I felt that my style was different than what was available in the shops I really liked so I created a line of silk screened greeting cards that I made in my apartment and sold on consignment in little Brooklyn boutiques. Bolstered by the success of those little collections and a newfound love (and technical aptitude) for letterpress printing I created Little Tree Press.

I see stationery as an extension of personal style, a paper accessory. Whether it is a thank you note or an elaborate wedding set, if it has your name on it, people will relate it to you. So, in my mind, why buy a Hallmark card? Mass-produced stationery pieces say very little about personality or style. Little Tree Press work is thoughtfully designed and printed by hand (each piece one at a time) with great attention to detail and I think it shows.

Thanks for coming to check out Little Tree Press.
